Dr. Tymkiw practiced general dentistry for two years before receiving his Specialty Certificate in Periodontics and a Master’s of Science degree from the University of Iowa in 2008. He is committed to academic study, is an active member of numerous dental organizations and societies, has published several articles on periodontics, and has lectured at numerous venues. He has advanced training and experience in all facets of periodontics and implant surgery and is dedicated to offering the latest surgical techniques.
And while Dr. Tymkiw has all of the requisite letters behind his name and has earned them all, what his patients appreciate most is the expert and compassionate patient care he provides each and every one of them. Keelen is first and foremost a talented surgeon and his results consistently exceed expectations. He is also warm, caring and gentle; never too busy to answer your questions, explain a procedure and talk to you about your periodontal condition, and outline exactly what you can expect with your treatment.
When he’s not at the office he is spending time with his wife and two kids along with their dogs, Charli and Rosco. They hike, bike, ski and boat; enjoying everything the beautiful Okanagan valley has to offer. Oral Medicine Specialist
Dr. Tareq Aldajani is a highly qualified and experienced oral medicine specialist, offering a wide
range of comprehensive services to his patients. His expertise includes the diagnosis and
management of oral pathologies, treatment and management of oral manifestations of systemic
diseases, therapeutic injection of neuromodulators, such as Botox©, for bruxism, TMD, and
neuropathic pain, as well as cosmetic Botox© injections. Dr. Aldajani is also skilled in the
management of orofacial pain, fabrication of oral appliances for TMD and bruxism, and
pharmacologic management of neuropathic, muscular, and jaw joint pain disorders. In addition,
he collaborates with patients' physicians to provide oral orthopedic appliances for mild to
moderate obstructive sleep apnea.
Dr. Aldajani received his dentistry degree from Misr University for Science and Technology in
Egypt in 2004. He then completed an internship program with the Ministry of Health in Jordan
and worked in various clinics and hospitals across the country, treating complex and medically
compromised cases in both urban and rural settings. After his clinical training, he earned a
Master of Science in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Jordan University of Science and
Technology in 2008 and completed advanced training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Saudi
Arabia in 2015. He passed the Diploma in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery examination with the
Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (UK) in 2015 and the Arab Board of Health
Specializations Diploma in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2017.
In 2017, Dr. Aldajani and his family moved to Canada, where he completed a postgraduate
residency and a Master of Science in Oral Medicine at the University of Alberta in 2022. He
underwent extensive graduate training in oral medicine and pathology, orofacial pain and TMD,
OSA and sleep appliances.
Dr. Aldajani joined Sopa Square Dental Clinic in April 2023 and is currently accepting new
patients. Around the clinic, Dr. Aldajani is playfully known as "Dr. T" by clients and staff alike.
It reflects his warm and caring nature, and his desire to get to know all his clients so that he can
provide the best possible care.
Dr. Darwin Song was born and raised in Edmonton AB and first moved to the Okanagan with his wife Lia in 2003. Since that time he has lived in various parts of British Columbia including Vancouver, Burnaby and Chilliwack. But he is happy to be back amongst the natural beauty and relaxed lifestyle of Kelowna where he is excited to raise his twin boys Ronin & Ryker.
Dr. Darwin Song is a Board Certified Specialist in Periodontics who maintains his specialty status as a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Prior to becoming a periodontist he enjoyed a 10 year career as a general dentist during which time he obtained fellowship status with the Academy of General Dentistry and also completed the core curriculum at the Dawson Academy in Florida where he learned to diagnose and treat complex masticatory system problems.
Dr. Darwin Song has been the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the “UBC Faculty of Dentistry Graduate Teaching Assistant Award”, “UBC Killam Graduate Teaching Assistant Award”, “Nobel Biocare Osseointegration Award” for clinical excellence, as well as the “Straumann Leader for Life Award” that recognizes rising leaders in advanced training programs.
Dr. Steven Faigan is a Certified Specialist in Periodontics. He received his Dental degree from McGill University and graduated from Boston University with both a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in General Dentistry, and with a specialty degree in Periodontics and Oral Biology. He has been a periodontal consultant to the British Columbia Cancer Agency, and is a past president of the BC Society of Periodontists. He is a past Associate Clinical Professor at the UBC Faculty of Dentistry and is the founder and mentor of the Okanagan Periodontal Study Club established in 1995. Dr. Faigan has always been actively involved in providing continuing education programs nationally and internationally and maintains a private specialty practice in Kelowna, BC with a particular interest in cosmetic periodontal and implant surgery with a restorative driven approach.
Dr. Bishop completed his dental training at the University of Alberta in Edmonton in 2006. He then studied at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas (UTHSCSA) graduating as a Certified Specialist in Prosthodontics.
At the UT Health Science Center, Dr. Bishop received advanced training in removable, fixed and implant prosthodontics while working as an undergraduate instructor.
Here, he also completed the UTHSCSA Preceptorship in Dental Implantology and obtained a Masters of Science degree for his research on the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
Esthetic and reconstructive dentistry such as crowns, bridges, veneers, implants and dentures are Dr. Bishop’s areas of expertise as well as TMJ/TMD and Sleep Apnea management.
In his practice, Dr. Bishop is dedicated to patient-centred care. Through careful coordination and open communication with his clients, Dr. Bishop is proud to support and empower patients, encouraging their involvement in the decision-making regarding individual options for treatment.
Dr. Shauna Palmer received her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1993 from the University of Alberta. After 9 years of practice in Kamloops, B.C., she embarked on a journey into a functional and cosmetic approach to dentistry in Beverley Hills, California. It was here she has developed the desire to continue her dedication and training to become more proficient in creating the perfect balance between form and function.
Her journey into cosmetic dentistry began with her extensive training at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies – commonly known and referred to as LVI Global. Since 2000, continuous training at LVI Global has allowed Dr. Palmer to gain more knowledge around the physiologic and neuromuscular aspects of dentistry. A physiologic/neuromuscular approach involves combining cosmetic dental treatments with the objective to balance teeth, jaw muscles, jaw joints and body posture simultaneously.
The love of the Okanagan Valley saw the return of Dr. Palmer in 2007 where she quickly purchased a practice of her own in West Kelowna. Dr. Shauna Palmer feels blessed to live and work in a place where health and beauty are major pillars of trying to make people’s lives better.
Dr. Justin Kierce grew up in Kelowna and he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan Campus in 2013. Justin completed dental school in 2017 at the University of Alberta, and this was followed by a surgical internship at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. He then moved to Ontario to complete his speciality training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Toronto. During this time, he also received a Master of Science degree for his research studying precancerous lesions of the mouth.
Justin has interest and expertise in corrective jaw surgery, TMJ surgery, management of pathology, facial trauma, anesthesia, and dentoalveolar surgery, including bone grafting and the placement of dental implants. He also has extensive experience in digital planning and 3D printing to facilitate surgical procedures and produce excellent esthetic and functional outcomes. Justin has published numerous journal articles and textbook chapters, and has lectured internationally on his research.
Outside of work, Justin enjoys spending time outdoors and is an avid mountain biker.
Dr. Berg was born and raised in Saskatchewan and received his D.M.D from the University of Manitoba in 1999. Dr. Berg earned a fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry in 2008. He and his dental team are highly experienced in all areas of dentistry and use the highest quality materials and advanced techniques to provide exceptional treatment results.
In his continued pursuit of excellence, Dr. Berg takes part in a variety of continuing education courses each year and is a member of several local, national and international dental organizations including The Academy of General Dentistry, International Team for Implantology, Academy of Osseointegration and The International Association of Orthodontics. Dr. Berg is also a graduate of the Kois Centre of Dental Excellence and is an active member of its organization.
Outside of the office, Dr. Berg loves to spend time with his family outdoors enjoying all the wonderful recreational activities the Okanagan has to offer.
For many years, Dr Oliver has provided orthodontic services to underserviced areas in smaller towns and communities while donating clinic revenues to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Programs.
